粗孔球形硅胶性质、用途与生产工艺化学性质毛玻璃状半透明颗粒。
不溶于水和无机酸，但溶于氢氟酸和浓苛性钠溶液中。机械强度高、耐磨性好。在饱和湿度下对水蒸气的吸附容量一般是细孔硅胶的2倍以上。具有理想而稳定的孔隙结构。用途粗孔块状硅胶。
生产方法硫酸法又分油柱成型和空气造Chemicalbook粒两种工艺，前者属于逐渐淘汰的方法。其工艺与细孔球形硅胶基本一致，区别在于老化工序，制备粗孔球形硅胶时，从接受槽流出的水凝胶先用蒸汽老化8h以上，老化后在水洗槽中用0.1%--0.2%稀硫酸浸泡12h，再经洗涤(除Na2SO4)、烘干、筛分、干燥，制得粗孔球形硅胶。
