戊二醛是一种有机化合物，化学式为C5H8O2，为无色或淡黄色透明液体，有甲醛刺激性气味，相对密度1.106，熔点-14℃，沸点188℃(分解)，折射率1.4338（25℃），难溶于冷水，易溶于热水及乙醇、乙醚等有机溶剂。 具有醛类的典型化学性质，经加成及缩合可生成乙缩醛、氰醇、肟、腙等。

Glutaraldehyde is an organic compound with the chemical formula C5H8O2. It is a colorless or light yellow transparent liquid with a pungent odor of formaldehyde. It has a relative density of 1.106, a melting point of -14 ℃, a boiling point of 188 ℃ (decomposition), and a refractive index of 1.4338 (25 ℃). It is insoluble in cold water but easily soluble in hot water and organic solvents such as ethanol and ether. It has typical chemical properties of aldehydes and can be added and condensed to form acetals, cyanoalcohols, oximes, hydrazones, etc.
