Particularly after the introduction of metallocene catalysts, the requirements for carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide content in propylene have been raised to the micro-liter per cubic meter level.
Hao Hanchi (Shandong) Application Technology Development Co., Ltd. employed a portable hydrogen flame ionization gas chromatograph GC-790PLUS equipped with a nickel converter to determine trace amounts of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide in polymer-grade propylene. The recovery rates for carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide ranged from 94% to 101%, with relative standard deviations of 3.21% to 5.68% for samples of varying concentrations. Both accuracy and precision met standard requirements.
